Pre-EEID 2020 workshop: Opportunities for collaborative projects on the Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases

Welcome to the pre-EEID 2020 workshop registration page !

‘Opportunities for collaborative projects on the Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases’,

12 - 14 June 2020, before the EEID2020 meeting in Montpellier

The aim of this pre-eeid workshop is to stimulate international interactions on ‘hot topics’ in Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases, and identify areas for future collaborative projects. It is expected to promote novel links between researchers in different countries and continents and lead to the submission of new projects. It is organised with the support of national research agencies with the aim to foster international collaboration on the Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases. Promotion of new collaborative projects will be in the form of organising ideas for large research grant applications, but also for early career scientists (PhD students, postdocs) looking for laboratories to apply for Post-doctoral research grants, or later career scientists identifying sabbatical locations. There will be a number of invited attendees who will present their experience of international collaborations and lead discussion groups.

The meeting will be held before the Montpellier ‘EEID 2020’ at a residential centre, Le Hameau d’Etoile, near the village of St Martin de Londres in the foothills of the Cevennes mountains, 25 km north of Montpellier. Coaches will transport people to and from the venue (departure from Montpellier on the afternoon of Friday June 12th and return to Montpellier from Hameau de l’Etoile on June 14th in the afternoon). Please note attendees are expected to participate for the duration of the meeting.

Attending the meeting

Attendance at the meeting is 150 €, plus 250 € for accommodation and food (400 € in total). We will be able to cover all, or partial, costs for most attendees. If you are interested in attending, you will be asked to provide a brief CV and a statement (not more than 350 words) saying why you want to attend, potential topics for projects you would like to discuss, and any networking ideas. If you would like to benefit from financial support to cover costs of attendance, you will be asked to provide additional information stating the reason. This is a small meeting and unfortunately the event is limited to 80 participants. Selection of participants will be based on CV and the supporting statement. Please note applications will be considered as they are received, so spaces may fill up fast.
